Please note: Natural colour variations in our Cladding Boards are expected due to the high contents of timber within the product. We advise all your Cladding Boards are ordered in one go, to reduce these variations.
After installation, our Composite Cladding goes through a period of stabilisation as the material gets used to its outdoor environment, this often happens within six months. Sun exposure and weather conditions will affect the level of the weathering.
Composite Slatted Cladding
What’s in Composite Slatted Cladding?
Looking for a sophisticated exterior upgrade for your home? Cladco Composite Slatted Cladding is
an ideal choice. Made from eco-friendly capped composite materials, Panels replicate timber
slats and are easy to install. Also known as ‘shadow gap’ cladding, Slatted Cladding is made
from 60% FSC® certified, recycled hardwood fibres and 40% recycled plastics, encased in a
hard-wearing exterior. Our Slatted Panels feature a four-slat castellation design that provides
a 200mm coverage per Panel once installed. This offers more scope than the average slatted panel
currently available on the market.
Maintaining Composite Slatted Cladding
Composite Slatted Cladding has a durable outer shell, helping to protect the Panels against
weathering and other potential sources of damage. To maintain your Panels, regularly clean them
with lukewarm or cold water to remove debris and dirt. For tougher stains, like bird droppings,
apply soapy water. Keep the Boards free from dirt, pollution, and other stains by inspecting
them annually and cleaning them as needed.
Avoid using high-pressure cleaning systems on Cladco Composite Slatted Cladding, as this can
damage the finish of the Panels. For a long-lasting cladding project, we recommend using
Composite or Recycled Plastic Battens.
How to Install Slatted Cladding?
Cladco Composite Slatted Panels can be installed externally on battens either horizontally or
vertically, placed in 500mm intervals. Where two Panels meet end to end, install two Battens
with a 3mm gap to allow for expansion and contraction. Panels should be installed with a 25mm
gap between the wall and Panel to ensure adequate airflow and ventilation. Be sure to install
any single Start Trims and Internal Corner Trims before installing Panels and finish with Corner
Trims or Double End Trims. Panels are slotted together using a tongue-and-groove method, which
hides the fixings for a professional finish to your exterior project.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use a pressure washer to clean them?
We do not advise using a pressure washer on your Slatted Cladding, as it may cause
damage to the paint layers. We recommend using cold or slightly warm water with a
gentle soap alongside a soft brush or cloth.
Can I cut my Panels down to size?
To adjust the length of your Slatted Cladding Panels you can cut them widthways using
any kind of standard wood cutting tools. For a clean cut edge on your Cladding, it
is advised to use a blade with a fine tooth. If you would like to cut the Cladding
Panels lengthways to change the width, you will remove the interconnecting tongue
and groove, which means you can no longer attach anymore Panels or Trims to the
edge.
Are the Panels scratch resistant?
Cladco Slatted Wall Cladding Panels have increased scratch resistance when compared
with natural timber. This is due to their unique capped composite material which
increases the Panel’s durability and should not scratch, or mark easily. Boards may
still scratch, if handled incorrectly.
Can Slatted Panels be installed horizontally?
Cladco Slatted Cladding Panels can be installed horizontally as well as vertically.
For horizontal installations, the joists and battens will need to be installed
vertically (the opposite orientation to the Panels), however the installation method
remains the same whichever direction you wish to install your Cladding.
Cladco Composite Slatted Wall Cladding Panels provide a modern solution for exterior wall
cladding. Made from a capped composite construction, each Panel showcases a subtle textured
grain effect across four slats. The hollow core construction reduces the overall weight of
each Panel.

Cladco Internal Slatted Wall Panels
What’s in Cladco Internal Slatted Wall Panels?
Cladco Internal Slatted Wall Panels are manufactured from high-quality MDF with a wood veneer,
producing a premium wood-effect aesthetic. Panels are backed onto an eco-friendly, recycled PET
felt base to create a solid, durable panel. With Cladco Slatted Wall Panels, you can quickly
create a modern space by fixing Panels over painted walls, or covering unsightly wallpaper or
materials. These Panels are acoustically rated to enhance sound absorption, which can be further
improved by installing battens and compacting soundproofing materials in the air space between.
Maintaining Internal Slatted Wall Panels
Internal Slatted Panels are easy to maintain. Use a vacuum cleaner with a soft nozzle attachment,
or a dusting cloth, to remove dust from between the slats. Clean individual slats with a damp
cloth, however, avoid using excessive water or detergents to prevent chemical discolouration. A
mild soap can be used for stubborn stains with a soft, damp cloth. If installing Panels using
screws to battens, Panels can be easily replaced where required. Panels are not manufactured
from water-resistant materials and can become damaged if exposed to water for extended periods.
How to Install Internal Slatted Panels?
One of the advantages of Cladco Internal Slatted Panels is their ease of installation, which is
simple using either wall grab adhesive or screws. For best results, we recommend using CT1
adhesive or appropriate screws. Panels can be installed vertically or horizontally to suit your
preferred style and can be cut to size and shape using ordinary woodworking tools. Adjusting a
Panel’s size to fit around any object is straightforward. Use a saw to cut the slats widthways
and a sharp blade to cut the felt lengthways, allowing you to install the Panels around any
obstacles.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can the Panels be installed in a bathroom?
We do not recommend installing Cladco Internal Slatted Wall Panels in rooms that may
have high humidity, such as bathrooms.

Cladco Slatted Wall Panels can be installed to your preference, either horizontally
or vertically. Both installation methods have the same process involving measuring,
cutting, and then either screwing or adhering the panels to the wall.
How can I hide the edges of the Panel?
Our Wall Panels are designed with exposed edges and can be cut to size length ways
and width ways, ensuring that the edges of the Panels are flush with the end of the
walls.
