Maintenance and Aftercare
Look for signs of warping or cracking due to over saturation of water, as well as insect infestation and rot. All of these are signs that indicate your decking boards will need replacing, and that the structural integrity of your deck has been weakened and could collapse under heavy weight or impact.
Cladco Composite Wall Cladding Boards are available in a variety of eight colours. The low-maintenance composite material does not need to be sanded, treated or varnished. We supply our Composite Decking Boards in eight colour variations and do not recommend painting our Boards.
Cladco Composite Decking Boards have UV-resistant properties, however, Composite Boards contain natural wood elements, which means they will fade from weathering over time. This process is most noticeable within the first six months after installation. Like any Composite product, our Decking Boards undergo a stabilisation process where they fade slightly to reach their final colour.
Composite Cladding needs much less upkeep compared to traditional timber materials, however, it is not completely maintenance-free. Routine cleaning is essential to get rid of debris and stop potential staining. If your Cladding is located beneath overhanging trees, it is important to promptly clear leaves, petals, and sap to avoid surface marks. Additionally, water runoff from gutters and downpipes may stain the Boards, making regular maintenance vital to preserve their appearance.
While Composite Decking requires significantly less upkeep than traditional timber decking, it is not entirely maintenance-free. Cleaning is necessary to remove debris and prevent potential staining. If your Decking is situated beneath overhanging trees, keep an eye out for leaves, petals, and sap that need to be cleared promptly to avoid marking the surface.
Like any Composite material, our Cladding Boards go through a process of stabilisation where fading may happen until the final colour is reached. Stabilisation usually occurs during the first six months following installation. This is more evident in the woodgrain design, where shading variations can arise due to the process of sanding.
Composite Decking Boards are susceptible to scratching, particularly if furniture is dragged across the surface. To minimise the risk of damage, we recommend attaching felt pads to the legs of furniture.

Watermarks are a common occurrence during the weathering process of Composite products. As the tannins in the timber content of the Boards come out, watermarks may appear. This is a temporary condition, and the marks will fade naturally as the Decking stabilises over time.
Watermarks are a common occurrence when the weathering process in Composite Fencing is taking place. Due to the tannins that are released from the timber contents of the Fencing Panels, the marks from water can become more apparent. This is temporary and will fade naturally over time.
Due to the porous nature of Composite Decking, prolonged contact with plant pots may cause staining. We recommend placing a mat underneath any pots to prevent this. This precaution should also be taken for other garden furniture.
Some of our lighter Cladding colours, such as Ivory, can show dirt more easily, so you will likely need to clean them more often than our darker colours.
If you choose to go for one of our lighter colours, such as Ivory, your Decking is more likely to show dirt. To avoid this, you may need to clean your Decking more often than if you were to choose a darker colour.

As with other Composite products, our Composite Fencing Panels endure a stabilisation of colour, normally within the initial six months of installation, until they reach their end shade.
